How is MakeMyCareer.AI different from traditional career counselors?
Traditional counselors often have partnerships with specific institutions and may recommend colleges based on commissions they receive. MakeMyCareer.AI is commission-free — our AI recommends options purely based on your profile, interests, and goals. Plus, we cost a fraction of traditional counseling fees (₹1,999 vs ₹10,000-50,000).
Who should use MakeMyCareer.AI?
Our platform is designed for students from Grade 9 onwards, including those in 10th, 11th, 12th, undergraduate, and even those considering a career change. Whether you're confused about stream selection, college choices, or career paths, we can help guide you.
Is MakeMyCareer.AI available outside India?
Yes! While we're based in India and have extensive data on Indian universities, our AI provides global career guidance. We cover universities in USA, UK, Canada, Australia, Germany, and 20+ other countries. Scholarship recommendations are tailored to your nationality and destination preferences.
Pricing
How much does MakeMyCareer.AI cost?
We offer a one-time payment of Plans (with occasional discounts). This is NOT a subscription — you pay once and get lifetime access to your personalized career guidance, university recommendations, scholarship database, and AI chat support (as per the Plan chosen).
Is there a refund policy?
Due to the nature of AI-generated personalized content, we do not offer refunds once you begin your guided journey. The AI generates custom recommendations specifically for you, which cannot be 'returned'. Please review our Terms of Service before purchasing.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major payment methods through Payment Gateways, including UPI (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, etc), Credit/Debit Cards, Net Banking, and Wallets. All payments are secure and GST-compliant with proper invoices.
The Guided Journey
What is the Guided Journey?
The Guided Journey is our 7-step AI-powered process that takes you from self-discovery to career clarity. You'll share your background, interests, and goals. Our AI analyzes this to suggest career paths, universities, and scholarships tailored specifically to you. The entire process takes about 45-60 minutes.
What are the 7 steps in the Guided Journey?
Steps 1-3: Personal profile (your details, academics, interests). Checkpoint 1: Review your profile. Step 4: AI asks clarifying questions. Step 5: You receive 5-7 career path options. Step 6: Deep dive into your 2 chosen paths with university & scholarship recommendations. Checkpoint 2: Review everything. Step 7: Final submission to unlock your dashboard.
Can I edit my information after submitting?
Yes, within each phase! Before Checkpoint 1, you can freely edit your profile. Before Checkpoint 2, you can change your career selections. However, once you confirm a checkpoint, that section is locked. If you need to restart completely, you can purchase the 'Journey Re-do' add-on.
What happens after I complete the Guided Journey?
You unlock your personalized Dashboard with: (1) Your 2 detailed career roadmaps with timelines, skills required, and salary expectations. (2) 10-15 university recommendations with fees, rankings, and application links. (3) 15-20 scholarship opportunities with deadlines and eligibility. (4) AI Chat to ask follow-up questions anytime.

How does the AI Chat work?
After completing your journey, you can chat with our AI counselor who has complete context of your profile, career paths, and recommendations. Ask questions like 'What skills should I learn first?', 'Compare MIT vs Stanford for me', or 'What's the application process for Fulbright?'. Your plan includes chat messages that reset monthly.
Are the university and scholarship links verified?
Yes! All university application links and scholarship URLs are verified and point directly to official sources. We regularly update our database to ensure accuracy. However, always double-check deadlines on official websites as they may change.
Can I get more university or scholarship recommendations?
Absolutely! Your initial journey includes comprehensive recommendations. If you want additional searches (perhaps for a different field or country), you can purchase add-ons from your Dashboard. Each add-on generates fresh AI recommendations based on new criteria.
What if the AI recommendations don't match my expectations?
The AI works best when you provide accurate, detailed information during the Guided Journey. If recommendations seem off, use the AI Chat to explain your concerns - it can provide alternative perspectives. Remember, career guidance is about exploration, not just validation of existing ideas!
Privacy
Is my data safe and private?
Yes, your privacy is our priority. We use enterprise-grade encryption (Azure cloud infrastructure), never share your personal data with third parties, and comply with data protection regulations. You can request data export or deletion anytime from Settings.
Account
I forgot my password. How do I reset it?
Click 'Login' then 'Forgot Password'. Enter your registered email, and we'll send a password reset link. The link expires in 1 hour for security. If you don't receive it, check your spam folder or contact support@makemycareer.ai.
Can I access MakeMyCareer.AI on mobile?
Yes! Our platform is fully responsive and works on all devices - desktop, laptop, tablet, and mobile phones. You can start your journey on one device and continue on another. We recommend a larger screen for the best experience during the Guided Journey.
How do I download my invoice?
Go to Dashboard → Invoices. You'll see all your payment history with 'Download Invoice' buttons. Invoices include GST details, are legally compliant, and can be used for tax purposes or reimbursement from parents/guardians.
